There have been major changes in the Vancouver Canucks organization recently.

Patrik Allvin became the first Swede ever to be hired as general manager of an NHL club when Vancouver gave him the job permanently.

In addition, Émilie Castonguay was hired as assistant general manager and thus became the first woman in that position at the club.

Now Cammi Granato is also joining the club as assistant general manager where she will be responsible for player development and scouting.

She most recently came from a position as a scout for the Seattle Kraken.

- It is a dream to have this opportunity in a city I call home, and in a young team with winning ambitions, she says in a press release.

The 50-year-old is one of the best ice hockey players on the women's side of all time.

Among other things, she won Olympic gold with the USA in 1998 and in 2010 became the first woman ever to be elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame together with Angela James.
