Today came the news that the host and TV personality Ingvar Oldsberg has passed away, 76 years old.

SVT's longtime commentator Staffan Lindeborg mourns his longtime colleague and close friend.

- I was very sad.

Ingvar was one of my best friends for many many years.

We started working together already in the 70s, but especially when I came to TV sports in 1979, says Lindeborg.

Worked with Tipsextra

The duo worked together for many years on SVT.

Among other things with Tipsextra, where Ingvar was both host and reporter.

And it was precisely sport that was always present at Oldsberg.

- He was well-educated, sports were his passion from a young age.

He lived for the sport.

I talked to him a few weeks ago and then there was a lot of talk about sports and television.

He always had views on broadcasts and commentator contributions and program director contributions, says Staffan Lindeborg.

When you now think of Ingvar Oldsberg, what do you think then?

- A great loss and a deep sorrow.

Then I think of his special resident and of his children and the emptiness he leaves behind.

An incredible source of inspiration, positive and happy with a twinkle in the eye.

And fast in the reply, terribly fast in the reply.

Ingvar Oldsberg turned 76 years old.
