The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics are in full swing, and the mascot of the Winter Olympics, Bing Dun Dun, became popular overnight and was called a "dun" by netizens.

On February 9, Yu Mubing, a 73-year-old from Toyota Village, Xixin Township, Shizhu County, Chongqing, also made a "unique" palm-leaf version of "Bingdundun" for his granddaughter, enjoying the fun of the Winter Olympics and cheering for Chinese athletes.

I saw that Yu Mubing held a few palm leaves in his hands, alternated left and right with his hands, sometimes interspersed and sometimes knotted, and the palm leaves turned up and down between his fingers and folded repeatedly... In order to make "Bingdundun" more realistic, Yu Mubing also specially walked. After 2 hours of mountain road, I came to a nearby town to buy dye.

Over the course of the night, the brown leaf version of "Bing Dun Dun" was displayed in front of the granddaughter.

Yu Mubing, 73, started learning palm weaving at the age of 12. For more than 60 years, he has made small handmade pieces into a craft, and he has also become a non-genetic inheritor of palm weaving at Shizhu County, Chongqing.

In order to let the little palm knitting go out of the mountains, my grandfather also posted the weaving process on the Internet, "let more people know about the palm knitting and pass it on".

Looking at the lifelike palm knitted works in his hand, Yu Mubing expressed his New Year's wish.
