Some details about what the discussions are about are not known, but according to the site Inside the games, it should be a matter linked to the Russian Olympic Committee and be about doping issues.
The competition's medal ceremony was not held as planned in Beijing on Tuesday.
If any of the medal teams are washed up, it is likely that the decision will be appealed to the Sports Arbitration Court, Cas, and then it may be some time before the podium is ready.
