Both Denmark and Sweden had everything to play for in the last group game in Olympic ice hockey.

A victory meant for both teams a third place in the group and a ticket to the quarterfinals.

It was an even story between the two neighboring countries where Sweden finally emerged victorious from the fateful match.

Veteran Emma Nordin gave Sweden the lead early in the match.

In the second period, Julie Oksbjerg equalized - but Lisa Johansson made sure that Damkronorna took back the lead before the second period was over.

A lead the Swedish players could hold on to for the remainder of the match.

However, it got nervous last minute when Denmark had a shot in the crossbar.

But instead, Sweden was able to put 3-1 in the open box through Ebba Berglund.

Set against Canada

The victory means that Sweden finishes third in Group B and is ready for the quarterfinals.

There, they face off against one in Group A - undefeated Canada who have crushed the opposition in the seeded group.

33 goals scored and five goals conceded and four wins is Canada's result in the group stage.

The quarter finals will be played February 11-12.
