Ryoyu Kobayashi, who won the first gold medal in the Japanese team at the Beijing Olympics Ski Jumping Men's Normal Hill on the 6th, was awarded a medal at the award ceremony held on the night of the 8th.

Kobayashi took the lead at the men's normal hill held on the 6th, marking 104 meters 50 in the first time when other leading players could not extend the flight distance due to the unfavorable tailwind.

Kobayashi, who showed a stable jump for the second time, won the gold medal for the first time in 24 years since the 1998 Nagano tournament for Japanese men in the jump.

On the night of the 8th, an award ceremony was held at the Medal Plaza in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, and Kobayashi entered the venue while repeating guts poses with other medalists.

To prevent infection, the medals are held in the same way as in the Tokyo tournament, where the players themselves pick up the medals. Kobayashi goes up to the center of the podium, jumps lightly to express his joy, and then puts a gold medal on his neck. I had a happy expression on my face.

After the awards ceremony, Kobayashi said, "I was happy with the medals of any of the tournaments so far, but since many people supported me at the Olympics, the weight of winning the medals was that much." I said what I thought.

He then said, "I hope this will make the jump more exciting. I want to make a big jump and aim for a gold medal at Large Hill," he said with enthusiasm for his second gold medal.
