Haaland's colleague advises him to continue with Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus has stated that he will advise his young Norwegian teammate, Erling Haaland, to stay with the German team after the end of the current season.

Haaland's contract extends until 2024, but he is attracting the attention of many major clubs in Europe, amid talk of a penalty clause in his contract with Dortmund, worth 75 million euros (86 million dollars), and that the player seeks to activate the penalty clause next summer.

But Reus told Bild am Sonntag newspaper on Sunday that if he was asked he would say to Haaland: 'Stay with us', you have everything here to develop further, he can play in the Champions League here, score goals and feel appreciated.

"In the end he has to make the decision himself, what he feels is best for him, it would be unfortunate if he left, but life will go on and we will find solutions as a team," Rios added.

Reus, 32, confirmed that he could stay with Dortmund in the city, which is his hometown, until he retires.

Reus has been playing in Dortmund since 2012 and his contract with the team extends until 2023. "Dortmund is my team and my town, and I would like to end my career here," Reus said.
