Förbundskapten Lars Fahlén följde puckelpistfinalen hemifrån Sverige på grund av att han drabbades av covid-19. Han hade inte väntat sig ett guld av Walter Wallberg.
– Det är faktiskt hans första vinst och det är ju bra att göra det på OS. Förväntingarna var topp tre, men OS är speciellt så det är otroligt starkt från hans sida, säger Fahlén.
Vad är det som ligger bakom guldet?
– Han jobbar hårt med detaljer. Han har jobbat otroligt hårt med att komma tillbaka från skada. Det är 100 procent i allt.
Wallberg returned this winter from a nearly two-year-old cruciate ligament injury.
He has delivered podium places in the World Cup, but now came the hit.
Bit by bit, he has found the right one, become stronger and stronger.

Fahlén believes that the gold will be good for the sport of humpback in Sweden.
- This creates an incredible interest.
He is a great role model for the young riders.
They see that they are possible and they see how good he is.
They feel even more to keep on.
When did you see that he could be this good?
- When I first met him when he was 14 years old.
Even then, I saw incredible potential.
It was unique.
