Emirates Cycling wins second place in the Valenciana Tour

Sebastien Molano of the Emirates Cycling Team won second place in the second stage of the Valenciana Tour, which was held on a 171.5 km hilly track from Pitera to Torrent.

He won the second place and the silver medal, while Fabio Jakobsen (Quick Step - Alpha Vinyl) won the first place.

Colombian sprint specialist Molano fought the last part of the race without the support of his South African teammate Ryan Gibson, who had an accident 3.7 km from the finish line, but the latter was able to return to his bike and finish the race.

Commenting on the result, Sebastian Molano said: “The sprint was exciting and I am very happy with the result thanks to the support of my teammates, but Gibson had an unfortunate accident in the last kilometres, which deprived us of a member of our squad, but we did our best to make up for his absence.

Jakobsen's opponents were faster than everyone else, but I have the fitness to win sooner in the next stages.

Tomorrow, the third stage of the Valenciana Tour will take place on a 155.1 km track from Alicante to Antenas del Maimo, and the race is expected to be decisive in determining the general classification positions.
