The Senegalese Football Association announces Mane's readiness to face Equatorial Guinea

The Senegalese Football Association announced today that striker Sadio Mane is ready to play for the country's national team against Equatorial Guinea in the quarter-finals of the African Nations Cup in Cameroon tomorrow.

The Liverpool star hit the head with the Cape Verdean goalkeeper in the two teams' match in the round of 16 last Tuesday, and was subsequently taken to hospital after he was discharged from the match after feeling dizzy and swelling in the face.

The Senegalese team doctor said that the tests that the player underwent showed that he did not suffer from a concussion.

"All the symptoms that he felt on the field have disappeared. His condition requires close monitoring. An X-ray examination showed that everything is normal," Dr. Abderrahmane Vidour added in a statement issued by the Senegalese Football Association.

And Mane, the holder of the African Player of the Year title, posted a picture of him on social media with the phrase “recovery continues.”

Senegal is seeking to win the African title for the first time, relying a lot on Mane's presence in the offensive line.
