The national football team, which landed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the final qualifier against Syria, met with the bad news of Corona 19, ahead of the 2022 Qatar World Cup finals.

According to the Korea Football Association today (29th), national team defender Hong Chul received a presumed positive result from a gene amplification (PCR) test conducted at the airport immediately after arriving in Dubai yesterday, and an additional test after that was also positive again.

Accordingly, the national team is scheduled to conduct a PCR test on the 29th, and all are quarantined until the test results are released.

Future schedules, including the training scheduled for that day in Dubai, have been put on hold.

The national team, which moved to Dubai after playing the 7th match of the final qualifier against Lebanon in Sidon, Lebanon on the 27th, is scheduled to play the 8th match of the final qualifier against Syria at the Rashid Stadium in Dubai on February 1 at 11 pm Korean time.
