Today is Charles Day and King Carl XVI Gustaf has thus decided on medal awards.
The sport is also highlighted in this context and six Swedish athletes will be honored.
They are awarded the HM King's medal for merit for Swedish sports.
Ceremonies later this year
Those who receive the medals are the football players Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Caroline Seger, the jumper Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, the former ice hockey player Peter Forsberg, the orienteer, ski orienteer and ski alpinist Tove Alexandersson and the parasimmer Maja Reichard.
All medal award ceremonies are planned to be held later this year, the Royal Family announces on its website.
