General relaxation.

The Pas-de-Calais prefecture announced Thursday to repeal "too general" administrative stadium bans (IAS) which forced Lensois supporters to report to the police station for each match of L1, L2 or the France team, sanction disputed by their lawyer.

These supporters, involved in the excesses during the Lens-Lille derby on September 18 in Ligue 1, also had to, for some, score for all the matches of the RC Lens youth teams and, for others, for all the French championship matches involving a professional team.

Overly restrictive stadium bans

The prefect of Pas-de-Calais acknowledged "that the administrative stadium bans", signed by the sub-prefect of Lens, "had too general a scope on the number of matches concerned".

“It repeals them today and will resume others, less restrictive.

The objective sought is to guarantee the smooth running of football matches without disturbing public order.

“In general, when the score is decided, it is only for the male professional matches of the supported club”, explained to Me Pierre Barthélémy, who defends ten of these supporters.

“This is the first time I've seen that (…) It's a measure that hasn't been thought through at all.
