Find out the result of the Argentina-Chile match in the absence of Messi

Argentina won a difficult 2-1 victory over Chile in the match that brought them together in the 15th round of the group stage of the South American qualifiers, qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, at dawn on Friday.

The victory is attributed to Angel Di Maria and Lautaro Martinez, who managed to score against Chile, despite the absence of captain Lionel Messi.

The Tango Dancers coach preferred to rest Messi after his previous infection with the Corona virus, and gave Di Maria the lead for the visiting team with a shot from outside the penalty area in the 10th minute.

In the 21st minute, Ben Brereton equalized for Chile with a superb header from inside the penalty area, to deceive the goalkeeper and into the net.

In the 34th minute of the match, Lautaro Martinez scored the winning goal, after following up on his colleague's shot, which the goalkeeper saved to score against Chile.

Leaders Brazil and Argentina secured qualification for the World Cup in Qatar, while Ecuador also came close, with 24 points, in third place.

In the second match, which was held at the same time, the Uruguayan team defeated Paraguay, with a clean goal, in the match that brought them together at the "General Pablo Rojas" stadium.

Uruguay's only goal was scored by Luis Suarez in the 50th minute of the match.

With this victory, Uruguay raised its score to 19 points in fourth place, to revive its hopes of qualifying directly for the World Cup, while Paraguay's balance stopped at the 9th place with 13 points.

The top four qualifiers qualify directly for the finals in Qatar, while the fifth-ranked team will compete in the global qualifiers against a team from Asia.
