Dane Fez moves away from Barcelona and chooses Atlético for $3 million

The Spanish football club, Atlético de Madrid, announced yesterday evening the signing of the player Daniel Fass from Valencia, on a contract for 18 months.

It was reported that the Danish international, who was to become a free player at the end of the season, cost Atletico Madrid 2.7 million euros (three million dollars), in addition to additional sums.

Barcelona had entered into direct contacts with Valencia in order to win the deal, but Atletico was the most convincing of the Danish player.

Atlético, coached by Diego Simeone, announced the contract with the young player from the youth sectors of Brundbe, on its website, and it is the first for the club during the current winter transfer market.

Fez can play comfortably in a number of positions, including the right-back, a position that Atlético seeks to strengthen after Kieran Trippier moved to Newcastle.

After three years with Celta Vigo, Fez joined Valencia in July 2018 and participated with the team in 152 matches, which is at least 12 more than the participation of any other player in Valencia during the same period.

Fez, 32, scored one goal and assisted another in 19 matches with the team in the league this season.

Fez participated in 41 matches with his country, and he played with the team in five of the six matches for Denmark on its way to the semi-finals of the European Nations Cup (Euro 2020).
