Last week, national team captain Johan Garpenlöv presented his Olympic squad containing 22 outfielders and three goalkeepers.

Earlier in the week, SOK also went out with the opportunity for Tre Kronor to pick out six extra players for the tournament in the Olympics.

But Tre Kronor and Damkronorna do not use that opportunity.

This was announced by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association on Thursday.

- At the moment, we choose to let our intended reserves continue to train and carry out covid testing at home, as we assess that the training environment and preparations for a possible player change take place best at home, says national team manager Olof Östblom and continues:

- We have the opportunity to send players to Beijing before and during the tournament, so we have currently chosen not to take advantage of the opportunity to have reserves in place in Beijing.

As with other tournaments, we will not communicate which players are relevant as reserves, says Olof Östblom, competition and national team manager for the Swedish Ice Hockey Association.
