Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth, and Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi, witnessed the activities of the "Active Parks" initiative, which was organized by the department the day before yesterday, in Sheikha Fatima Park in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation With the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the municipalities of Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain City and Al Dhafra Region.

The event coincides with the announcement of the initiative’s expansion to include age groups from eight years and above, in order to promote the concept of physical activity in the community and adopt it as a way of life by taking advantage of the various facilities provided by the emirate, such as public parks and green spaces in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra region.

Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili valued the visit of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and Noura Al Kaabi and their briefing on one of the training sessions for the “Active Parks” initiative, noting the importance of this visit in supporting the initiative and enhancing the importance of the program in consolidating the foundations of a healthy society and overcoming challenges that prevent sports activities, in addition to To contribute to achieving the goals of the program to give all individuals of all ages and physical abilities an opportunity to exercise.

The organizers of the initiative announced the expansion of its program to allow attendance for children aged eight years and over, in addition to adding four sessions on Saturdays and Sundays to meet the great demand for the program.

Additional classes will be distributed to the Mohammed Bin Zayed City Park, which hosts a session of bootcamp and CrossFit exercises, while Sheikha Fatima Park will host a CrossFit session on Sunday, followed by a Bootcamp session.
