Jonathan Dahlén started the season brilliantly and accounted for six goals and two assists in the first eleven matches.

After that, however, it has been harder for the Swedish rookie who before tonight's meeting with Washington only scored one goal in the last 22 matches.

But in the 4-1 victory over Washington, he struck again.

With three minutes left of the final period, the home team lost the puck in the offensive zone and San José was able to turn around.

Dahlén got the puck in the middle and then advanced towards the right side.

Despite an opponent in front of him, he pulled away and put 3-1.

San José eventually won 4-1 after an empty net goal at the end of the match.

There were more Swedes who were successful in tonight's NHL round.

Toronto's William Nylander scored in powerplay as Toronto won 4-3 against Anaheim after penalties.

Jakob Silfverberg netted in the losing team.

Nylander also got an assist and is now up to 40 points in a total of 39 matches.
