A fake vaccination certificate causes a German coach to be suspended for a year

Yesterday, the German Football Association announced the suspension of coach Marcus Anfang for a year and a fine of 20,000 euros ($ 22,564) after he admitted that he used a false certificate of vaccination against Covid-19.

Anfang initially denied the accusations and resigned as coach of second-tier Werder Bremen last November after German authorities opened an investigation into the use of a false certificate.

Florian Yune, Anfang's former assistant, was banned for 10 months and fined 3,000 euros.

The German Federation statement added that the coaches' confessions allowed them to return to work in the 2022-2023 season.
