On the second of February, Oskar Eriksson and Almida de Val will play their first match in mixed doubles in the Olympics.
They should have flown to Beijing this Thursday but the trip has been postponed.
A leader of the mixed doubles team received a positive test result on a corona test on Tuesday.
The next few days will show whether Eriksson and de Val will be the two players who represent Sweden in the mixed team.
- We do not know much more right now because it came last night, they have been isolated now and are waiting for new tests, she says.
Should any of Oskar Eriksson or Almida de Val be infected, they will not be allowed to go to the Olympics.
- Now there is not much time to play, so is there anyone else in the team who is infected after this, it will not have time to go on mixed doubles, it is not possible.
Then we have to put in new players, but we have a long list.
We have many contingency plans, you make sure that the worst happens, says Prytz.
Lag Edins OS
Since the men's team plays their matches later in the championship, they do not risk having to cancel if they were infected now.
As far as ladies and gentlemen are concerned, there is so far no major danger because they will not start playing until the ninth of February.
For Team Edin, there is thus more time, even if they were infected, there is hope that they will have time to recover, says Prytz.
Everyone in the mixed team and the leader in Team Edin has been tested during the day and is waiting for test results.
The rest of team Edin will be tested tomorrow.
