Shingo Kunieda, the gold medalist of the Tokyo Paralympics last year, advanced to the final for the first time in two years in the four major tennis tournaments, the Australian Open wheelchair division, and the men's singles semifinals.

In the semi-finals held on the 25th, Kunieda, who ranked first in the world ranking, played against Tom Egberink of the Netherlands, who won the straight victory in the final of the Tokyo Paralympics.

In the first set, which was a close battle, the service games were broken each other, and Kunieda allowed the opponent to break in the 12th game and dropped it 5-7.

The following 2nd set regained 6-3, and the final 3rd set allowed the opponent to lead, but from the 9th game greeted in 4-4, 2 sets were taken in a row and 6-4. We decided to advance to the final with a set count of 2 to 1 in a come-from-behind victory.

It is the first time in two years that Kunieda will advance to the final in the men's singles of the Australian Open wheelchair division, and he will play against Alfie Hewett of England for the 11th victory of the tournament.
