The fear of being infected by the coronavirus just days before the Beijing Olympics is evident in the Norwegian team.

- On the trip here, I sat with a visor and a double face mask on the plane.

I do the best I can, says Heidi Weng to NRK.

The Norwegian team is at a recharging camp in the Italian Seiser Alm and plans to travel home to Oslo and Gardermoen on Wednesday.

First, everyone must do a PCR test in Italy before departure and then they must do another at the airport in Oslo.

- We have defined that both airports and airports are the places where there is the greatest risk of being in close contact and infected.

But it is a long way if we were to drive to Beijing, says cross-country skiing manager Espen Bjervig to NRK.

- We just have to be even more careful.

All you can do is keep your distance, wear the mask and spray your hands.

We'll stop eating and drinking on the plane.

We should spray the seats, not take off our masks and just sit there calmly on the plane, says Bjervig.

After arriving at Gardermoen tomorrow night, several of the Norwegian passengers will stay at a hotel at the airport, but Johaug will spend the last day before leaving for Beijing on Thursday with his boyfriend Nils Jakob Hoff.

- He will take two PCR tests to be on the safe side.

We are on the run now and then we have to be insanely careful the last few days, says Johaug.
