"We have a large and strong squad.

The goal is to make Sweden's foremost winter Olympics of all time ", says team manager Peter Reinebo in a press release from the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK).

A total of 116 Swedish athletes go to the Olympics in Beijing.

"It is still possible to make changes due to illness or injury, but the squad will not be expanded with any additional sports or athletes," writes SOK.

Elliott Baralo is selected on the so-called future criterion while Charlotta Säfvenberg is entered as usual in the alpine squad.

Her best result this winter is eleventh place in the slalom in Schladming.

The Olympics will be inaugurated on February 4, but will start with mixed curling as early as February 2.
