Comoros national football team faces Cameroon without a goalkeeper in the African Nations Cup

Be sure to guard the Comoros national team's goalkeeper in its match against Cameroon in the round of 16 in the African Nations Cup, scheduled for Monday, as a player, not a goalkeeper.

After reaching the playoffs by defeating Ghana 3/2 in the last round of the group stage, the Comoros national team announced yesterday, Saturday, that there were 12 cases of infection with the Corona virus.

Among those infected with the virus are coach Amir Abdo, and two guards, Muayyad Osini and Ali Ahmada, who replaced Salim Ben Bwana in the first half of the Ghana match.

With the absence of the three goalkeepers from Monday's match against Cameroon, assistant coach Jean-Daniel Padovani confirmed that the Comoros team will face Cameroon, the team that scored the most goals in the tournament, and one of the players will be in the goalkeeper.

"Indeed, we chose a player to start as a goalkeeper. He is a player who has shown in training that he can play as a goalkeeper," Padovani said.

Comoros has only 12 players available for the match.

The tournament regulations stipulate that in the event that one of the teams does not have a goalkeeper, but he has 11 ready players, one of the players will be relied on as goalkeeper.
