Yesterday, Friday, the Brazilian Football Confederation announced that players must receive a vaccine against “Covid-19” in order to participate in the domestic league competitions in the new season.

The Brazilian Confederation said that it is in constant contact with the health authorities, and has sent a new list of necessary requirements for team members to play.

"One of these conditions relates to the requirement to submit a certificate for obtaining a vaccination against Covid-19 to the medical commission," the CBF statement read.

The first 4 divisions of the Brazilian League will start in the second week of next April.

Brazil coach Tite said that he did not include Atletico Madrid defender Renan Lodi in the national team squad before the resumption of World Cup qualifiers, because he had not yet received both doses of the vaccine.

There has been a great deal of controversy in recent days regarding the position of athletes regarding obtaining the vaccination, after tennis star Novak Djokovic, the world number one, was deported from Australia before the start of the Australian Open because he did not

receive the vaccine.
