Petter Northug started in the Ski Classics race but started among the exercisers.
That after requesting an exemption to start in the elite class, but not receiving a response from either Wada or Fis since the turn of the month October / November.
The attentive spectator could see Northug go to the finish line shortly after the ladies settled for the podium.
In the finish, the former superstar at 2.39, one minute and 11 seconds behind today's winner Ida Dahl, was fastest in the u40 class.
And just over 16 minutes behind the men's elite class winner Kasper Stadås.
