Relying on the Zhangbei Flexible DC Power Grid Project and the cross-regional green power trading mechanism applicable to the Beijing Winter Olympics, the power consumption of the venues for lighting, operation and transportation are all Provided by photovoltaic power generation and wind power generation in Zhangjiakou.

  According to reports, since the Zhangbei flexible DC power grid project was put into operation, under the premise of existing policies and venue conditions, many venues have been using green electricity in advance during the construction period. By the time of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Olympic Games will be realized. For the first time in history, all venues use 100% green electricity.

  According to estimates, by the end of the 2022 Winter Paralympic Games, the Winter Olympic venues are expected to consume about 400 million kWh of green electricity, which is expected to reduce standard coal burning by 128,000 tons and carbon dioxide emissions by 320,000 tons.

  After the Zhangbei flexible DC power grid project is put into operation, it will not only meet the needs of the Winter Olympics, but also greatly increase the proportion of new energy power consumption in Beijing.
