Frida Karlsson stepped out in front of Jessie Diggins in the quarterfinals of the classic sprint in the Tour de Ski on New Year's Day.

That caused Diggins to fall and be last in the quarterfinals.

Frida Karlsson was washed and sentenced as the last in the quarter, before she then broke the whole tour.

- I only know that I was angry with myself.

I made a mistake.

You make the wrong decision on a sprint sometimes.

I made a mistake that ruined my tour and it did not go well for her either.

At the same time, it's done, done, and that's what happens in our sport.

In any case, I am proud of how I acted afterwards.

I could not have done so much differently.

Did you find that many people were angry with you?

- No I do not know.

I approached her and really apologized.

Then it sounded like she was very happy that I did so.

I do not know if it was just something she wrote externally then.

Karlsson has nevertheless learned from the incident.

- Maybe you should have a little more margins in what you do, but I do not focus very much on that.

Without focus is forward.

The Swedish star has previously expressed his interest in running a sprint relay at the Olympics in Beijing.

She thinks her chances got worse because of what happened to Diggins.

- Yes, I think now that I did not get to show what I could in the classic sprint on the tour, it will be more difficult.

But if I were asked the question, I would definitely be super hungry, says Karlsson.

She is now with the rest of the national team on Olympic recharging in Livigno, Italy and feels in better shape than she was in during the Tour de Ski at the turn of the year.

- I have received good answers in training and it feels good.

I am confident in the plan we have set up.

My shape is much better than it was then.

Now it's about getting some excess energy, feeling good and enjoying the sun.
