It was long unclear whether Charlotte Kalla had performed enough to get a place in the Swedish cross-country team that goes to the Olympics in Beijing.

At the end of the Tour de Ski, it still became clear.

- It has been extra motivating to complete the training now that I have been able to look at the future for a few weeks.

It has been a kick and really inspiring, she says.

She has not set any performance goals, but hopes to travel distances.

She is still aware that this does not have to be the case, given the tough competition.

- I am fully aware that I can go there and not be allowed to wear the competition suit.

I'm just preparing to be as ready as possible if I can go.

Do you have to prepare yourself not to go too?

- It's just to have that mindset with you, but regardless of whether I am a reserve or get the go-ahead to start, anything can happen every day.

You need to carry out the sessions as if you were allowed to start, says Kalla.

At previous Olympics, you have been the Swede with the highest expectations of you.

What is it like not to be like that now?

- I really feel that I have a chance to beat inferiority, that I have everything and win.

I'm just going there and doing my absolute best.

Charlotte Kalla plans to compete in the World Cup even after the Olympics, but if this will be her last season, there is nothing she is thinking about yet.

- I have not decided if there will be any competitions after the Swedish Championships in Piteå.

Sometime in April, I would guess that I should think about it.
