[Beijing Winter Olympics] Yang Yang: More people will participate in ice and snow sports in the post-Winter Olympics era

On the 17-day countdown to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, "Ice Flying" settled at the foot of the Oriental Pearl Tower, a landmark building in Shanghai, allowing Shanghai citizens and tourists to get close contact with ice sports and experience the charm of ice sports.

Yang Yang, the first gold winner of China's Winter Olympics, chairman of the Athletes Committee of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, and founder of Shanghai Feiyang Ice Sports Center, said: "If you want sports to become a culture, you still need more people's participation. Of course, our hardware is the best in the world in accordance with Olympic standards. At the same time, '300 million people participate in ice and snow sports', which also allows these hardware facilities to provide opportunities for more people to participate in the future." Yang Yang said, "So I think in the post-Winter Olympics era, there will be more people participating in ice and snow sports, and the Beijing Winter Olympics is just the beginning."

It is reported that the 2022 "Ice Flying" event was officially opened from January 19 to February 24, covering the entire 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics time period.

At that time, professional coaches will provide on-site guidance, and irregular winter sports such as figure skating, short track speed skating, ice hockey, and queue skating will also be displayed professionally.
