One chance for Algeria to qualify for the African Nations... and Riyad Mahrez refuses to "go home"!

The Algerian national team has one chance to qualify for the round of 16 in the African Nations Championship currently being held in Cameroon when it faces Ivory Coast today Thursday (20:00 UAE time), as winning alone will prevent a major shock for the "Desert Warriors" and avoid them leaving the tournament that They had held its title twice, the first on their land in 1990 and the second in the last edition that took place in Egypt.

The Algerian team bottoms the fifth group with a single point, without scoring any goal, and to qualify, it must win and raise its score to 4 points. The irony is that the victory over Ivory Coast by two or more goals will guarantee Algeria’s qualification either in first or second place, and will facilitate its confrontation in the round of 16, either. A draw or defeat will mean Algeria's official exit, regardless of the outcome of the other meeting between Equatorial Guinea and Sierra Leone.

For his part, the Algerian star, Riyad Mahrez, Manchester City player, said in a press conference that he was "not ready to return to Algeria."

Mahrez said in the press conference: "For me, I refuse to go home, the match will be difficult against a strong team, but we are determined to win."

The Algerian national team had tied against Sierra Leone without goals, and then lost to Equatorial Guinea with a single goal.
