Malmö has so far not had the season they were hoping for.

The team ranks twelfth in the SHL and has two straight losses, the most recent against Oskarshamn with 1-3.

Now the club management chooses to act - the agreement with coach Joakim Fagervall is terminated.

"I have been fired", Fagervall confirms in a text message to SVT Sport.

Kvällposten was the first to report on Malmö's decision.

- Since it is already out now, I can hereby confirm that your information is correct, says Malmö's CEO Mats Larsson to the newspaper.

- We are not done with that process.

We hoped we would solve it, but it will not happen.

Styf and Kollar lead the team towards Leksand, and then we hope we have it in place, says Mats Larsson.

Malmö extended the contract with Fagervall as late as November.

The agreement, which has now been terminated, extended over the 2022-23 season.
