The Confederation of African Football announced on Monday that the draw for the third round of the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup will take place on Saturday, January 22, in Douala, Cameroon, on the sidelines of the ongoing African Nations Cup.

Ten teams qualified for the decisive third round: Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Nigeria, Egypt, Cameroon, Ghana, Mali and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The ten teams were divided into two tiers based on the FIFA rankings for the month of November 2021. The highest-ranked teams, namely Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Nigeria, will play against the five lowest-ranked teams (the first leg matches will be played on the grounds of the lowest-ranked teams).

The decisive round will be played in March with a home and away system.
