Côte d'Ivoire goalkeeper gives Sierra Leone an "imaginary" point and postpones his team's qualification to the second round of the African Cup

 The goalkeeper of the Ivorian national football team dealt a severe blow to his team and prevented him from qualifying early to the second round (the round of sixteen) in the African Nations Cup, currently being held in Cameroon, after his mistake in the deadly time caused a 2-2 draw with his Sierra Leone counterpart today, Sunday. In the second round of the fifth group matches in the first round of the championship.

The Ivorian team strengthened its lead in the group, raising its score to four points, compared to two points for Sierra Leone.

The first half of the match ended with the Ivorian team (The Elephants) advancing with a clean goal, scored by Sebastian Heller in the 25th minute.

In the second half, Moussa Kamara equalized for Sierra Leone in the 55th minute, but Nicholas Pepe gave the Elephants the lead in the 66th minute, before Ivorian goalkeeper Ali Sanjari's mistake caused Sierra Leone's equalizer, signed by Alhaji Kamara in the third minute of overtime.

The two teams presented an average performance in the first half, with a clear superiority for the Ivorian team, which ended the half in its favour, with a clean goal, and its player, Frank Kessie, missed a penalty kick in the 12th minute.

In the second half, the performance improved relatively and the Sierra Leone team tied with a wonderful goal before the Elephants advanced again with a special goal scored by Nicholas Pepe, but the Sierra Leone team snatched the equalizer in the deadly time.
