The first appearance of the "Alwanit" driver in the Dakar Rally (video)

The Saudi young man, Mishaal bin Nayef Al-Shalawi, the owner of the famous video clip, which has spread widely on social media, appeared after he succeeded in overtaking one of the drivers in the 2022 Dakar Rally, even though he was driving his vehicle during the April 2015 race.

In his first appearance, he expressed his happiness, and saluted his fans, in a video clip circulating on social media.

Mishaal, the 24-year-old, wished to participate in the Dakar Rally, and was unable to do so because of his simple capabilities, but he was led by chance, which he was not equipped for, and he ventured to challenge the Belgian driver Pascal Ferrin when he passed his home south of Taif, and surpassed him in the middle of the desert.

In a statement to Al Arabiya.net, he said that he was driving his old vehicle at a speed of 110 over the sand dunes, and after the racing camera caught sight of him by helicopter at the Abu Rakah Center, the enthusiasm increased inside him and cut him and his friend nearly half a kilo in two minutes, while he was pushing him. Sahel Al-Shalawi's friend to hold out for fear that his car was not ready for the competition, stressing that if he had participated in the race, he would have achieved first place.
