The back run in La Venosta was about 10 kilometers and 400 meters of climbing.

Max Novak went out hard and rose to a new second in the first half, 3.9 seconds behind the leader.

Towards the second half, however, Novak lost some power and speed and was 22 seconds behind Tord Asle Gjerdalen in the lead.

The Swede continued to push and was constantly involved and challenged.

However, there was no podium for Novak, who eventually finished fourth.

- Now he has an entrance, this is a breakthrough for him, I think.

Even though he did well last year, says SVT Sports expert Anders Blomqvist.

Johannes Eklöf also started strong and looked for a while to be able to tampas about a podium place.

In the end, however, he finished sixth, 50.9 seconds behind the winner Asle Gjerdalen.

Second was the Norwegian Martin Löwström Nyenget and in third place landed the Russian Ermil Vokuev.

Last weekend, Novak took home Saturday's 62 kilometer long race in Ski Classics after a sprint drama.
