Kevin De Bruyne scored a goal with a superb shot in the second half, leading champions Manchester City to a 1-0 victory over Chelsea and consolidated their lead in the English Premier League on Saturday, and City made a big step towards preserving the Premier League title.

De Bruyne penetrated the ball and fired a powerful shot into his former club's goal in the 70th minute.

The brilliant City consolidated its lead in the competition with 56 points from 22 games, 13 points behind second-placed Chelsea.

City's victory was deserved, as the team was the best in terms of possession and attacking pressure throughout the two halves of the match, and would have achieved a greater victory without the brilliance of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
