Rögle has been a nightmare opponent for Frölunda.

Ahead of Saturday's meeting in Scandinavium, Skånelaget had nine straight victories between the teams and also beat Frölunda in the CHL semi-final earlier this week.

It started well for Rögle even today.

In the first period, they took the lead already after 4.31 when Dennis Everberg directly shot in a pass from Adam Tambellini.

But in the second period, the turn came - and it went away.

Five minutes into the middle, the new acquisition Andreas Borgman scored his first goal with a rock-hard wrist shot and half a minute later, Theodor Niederbach led 2-1.

Frölunda went to the period break with 3-1 in the back after Elmer Söderblom extended the lead at the end of the period.

Frölunda won in the end with 4-1 after Max Friberg punctured in an empty box and now they key in on league-leading Rögle.

Frölunda has 59 points and is thus two points behind with one match less played.

It is noteworthy that Rögle lined up with as many as nine juniors in the team line-up as injuries and suspensions have meant that the team was heavily decimated.
