Australian Immigration Minister Alex Hawke, after much hesitation, has declared Novak Djokovic's entry visa invalid.

Do you think his decision is reasonable?

It was to be expected that the Australian government would not let the shame of the lost process regarding the entry procedure against Novak Djokovic sit on it and would return a strong return.

Every government is stronger than a single individual - this applies to all people and also to Novak Djokovic.

Is Djokovic to blame for his situation, or do you have sympathy for him?

If you don't get vaccinated, that doesn't automatically make you a bad person. I've been vaccinated and boosted, but I'm also in my fifties. There are many people who share Novak's point of view, trust in her strong immune system and maybe also have a different view of the world. As a democratic society, we should also allow these other opinions. In the meantime we have learned that despite three vaccinations you can also become infected and pass on the disease. That's the devilish thing: There is no best solution, only a temporary one. Novak made a different choice than me and the majority of people. But he didn't do anything illegal.

The behavior of the Australian authorities and the Australian Tennis Association also drew criticism.

How do you see their role in this play?

I'm not one to point fingers at people, but they're not completely innocent in the Novak Djokovic disaster.

But he has to pay the bill all by himself.

I hope the international media will take a close look at who is responsible for all the mistakes.

Will Djokovic now mess with the whole world and stay true to his line, or will he emerge from it purified and get vaccinated immediately?

I don't think it will get any easier for him.

The French Open and Wimbledon are taking a close look at the situation in Australia.

If he wants to continue to focus on tennis, he needs to make changes.

That's why my opinion would be: "Novak, try to see that it will be easier for you if you're vaccinated." I don't know if he does that.

Can you imagine him ending his career prematurely because of Corona and his attitude towards it?

No.

He's rooted in tennis, I don't think so.

If his lawyers still managed to get the right to start at the Australian Open, would Djokovic be mentally so strong that he would still win the tournament as the bogeyman of the Australian audience?

I like to call him a street fighter with the motto "me against the world".

The fact that Novak is booed actually happens to him at every Grand Slam.

It won't bother him if the stadium is against him, it will bother him more that he had the worst sporting preparation for a Grand Slam tournament in his career.

Novak also needs his training sessions on the pitch and preparatory matches.

Djokovic is used to the spectators almost always standing by their opponents.

You know him well, you were his coach between 2013 and 2016: do you have an explanation for his unpopularity, or does the public just have the wrong image of him?
