In just ten days, SOK's vanguard will set off, and shortly thereafter, activists and leaders will set off for Beijing.

SOK has quickly had to change and rethink after the latest covid-19 outbreak, the fourth corona wave in Sweden.

- It is a big challenge for all of us.

Some trips will be delayed because the spread of infection is so great right now.

There are both active and leaders who are currently positive.

This means that not all preparations will be optimal but it is the same for everyone all over the world and you have to make the best of it.

With the massive wave that is going on right now, it will not be possible to avoid all infection, says Peter Reinebo.

Would you like the Olympics to be postponed for a year?

- What should I answer to that?

I think it's too late to postpone the Olympics.

Does not have the image that it has been considered at all, either in the IOC or in Beijing.

There have been no signals about it.

Now we are very close.

The downside is that the spread seems to happen even though you are vaccinated and you can be positive even if you do not feel sick.

It is very difficult to handle.

"Can be isolated even though you are healthy"

SOK doctor Jakob Svanberg warns that healthy people can test positive because the limit values are lower in China.

How do you see it?

- This means that if you have a negative test when you leave Sweden, previous illness can remain in the body and make you positive when you get there.

Then it will be a matter of time where you end up in isolation for a couple of days before you pass on the right side of the limit value.

We can not do anything about it but just relate to it and inform about it, that there is a light in the tunnel anyway.

What do trips to China look like?

- Our main trips will be from Oslo and Helsinki, where we cooperate with other Nordic countries.

The big departure dates are January 26, 27 and 31 and February 2, says Reinebo.

New information in the last six weeks

SOK has learned about covid-19, a virus that is constantly taking new paths, in a new way after the Tokyo Olympics this summer when the vaccine bit better and the spread was declining.

Now the spread of infection is rising and vaccination does not help in some cases.

- New knowledge and information over the past six weeks has taught us that two doses may not be enough.

Now you can get vaccinated already after four months and not after five or six as the previous recommendation was.

Through the IOC agreement, we have doses saved that we can use now, but the active ones must decide for themselves depending on their own experiences, says Reinebo.

The squad is entered on January 23 and the Olympics will be inaugurated on February 4.
