On Monday morning, local time, it was time for the Melbourne court to discuss the border police's decision to withdraw tennis star Novak Djokovic's entry permit into Australia.

If the authorities are right, the Serb will miss the opportunity to defend his title at the Australian Open.

The interest in the case is enormous and it started with the negotiations being delayed when the live broadcast that you could follow them via crashed when too many people tried to log in at the same time.

During the morning, Djokovic's lawyers were allowed to present their views.

Gets partial support

They believe that the border police on incorrect grounds withdrew the tennis star's visa and that Djokovic did everything he could possibly ask of him before the trip to Australia to ensure that he had the correct documentation with him.

And they are partially upheld by the judge in the case, Anthony Kelly.

- What more could this man have done, he says.

It also appears that Djokovic has asked the border police to wait with a decision on the revoked visa until the Australian Tennis Federation wakes up and is contacted.

In the afternoon, local time, it's time for the other side to argue.
