In this series, SVT follows the classic Degerfors IF in their comeback in the football hall Swedish in 2021.

A club that does not compete financially on the same terms as the big clubs in the league.

For example, Degerfors has a turnover of just over SEK 20 million - while the reigning champions Malmö FF have a turnover of SEK 251 million.

Degerfors competes with other values - and wants to keep its local character on the squad.

The first section is about the club's recruiting strategy, among other things.

In the car on the way to a recruiting meeting, sports director Patrik Werner jokes a bit about what they are looking for:

- We would rather have players from Degerfors in the squad, and we do not get that from as close as possible.

It is a special jargon in Degerfors.

It must not be for smart people who come here.

It must click somehow.

And it is also about fitting in purely intellectually and socially when the club recruits new players.

- We had a guy from Skövde who was training once, and he studied at Chalmers in Gothenburg.

I immediately said that that was over.

He had not had anyone to talk to in the locker room, says Werner and laughs.
