Just over a week ago, Meraf Bahta set a Swedish record for 5 kilometers of country road.

Today she did the same thing in the double distance.

She finished fifth in Valencia and the time of 31.22 was enough to take back the Swedish record that she lost to Sarah Lahti in October.

- It was a bit too fast opening but we had no choice because the speed was set at 3.03 per kilometer for the runners that she can normally be thought to be even with.

She dropped the lead barely halfway and then ran alone.

Unfortunately a little gusty wind today.

But perfectly okay a day with little tough legs.

We know that she is good for a little better right now really so Meraf is not completely satisfied but still an approved race, says coach Per Skoog.

Norwegian Karoline Bjerkeli Grövdal was close to victory, but had to give up three seconds to Kenyan Norah Jeruto Tanui.

Hanna Lindholm was 16th in the time of 33.35.

In the men's race, both Suldan Hassan and Vidar Johansson set personal records with the times 28.19 and 28.40 respectively.
