Ahmed bin Mohammed welcomes the winners of the 11th cycle of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee and President of the "Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Sports Creativity", one of the "Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives", welcomed the winners of the eleventh session of the award from the Arab world and international institutions who They arrived in the country and will be honored with the winners from the UAE on Sunday (January 9) with the first prize of its kind in the world and the largest in terms of the value of its prizes and the diversity of its categories, which is concerned with the field of sports creativity and seeks to establish it as an approach to sports work locally, Arably and internationally.

On this occasion, His Highness said: "In line with the wise leadership's approach to appreciating creativity and honoring creators in all fields, and based on its constant keenness to support creators in all fields, including the sports sector, the UAE welcomes all the winners, as the world's eyes turn to Dubai, where they will be Honoring the winners of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Sports Creativity, including individuals, teams, and local, Arab and international institutions, in appreciation of their efforts, achievements and initiatives that contribute to the development of sports to the highest levels and enhance its role in empowering societies and making people happy.”

His Highness concluded by saying: "The award's decision to change the dates of nomination for the 11th session after the completion of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo allowed the Arab champions to win in the eleventh session of the award, as the Tokyo Olympics was the best ever in the history of Arab participation, and we are pleased that we have among us to honor heroes who excelled. In Tokyo, they entered the history of the Olympic Games with their achievements and will enter the history of this award to add their names among the ranks of sports creators. We are pleased to continue to support and honor creative Emirati youth in line with their achievements and give them the incentive to achieve more championships and advanced positions in various sports competitions.”

The eleventh session of the award is linked to more than one national and international occasion, as it comes in the wake of the country's celebrations of the golden jubilee of its founding and the fiftieth Union Day, and coincides with the beginning of the second fiftieth of the state's life. In the interest of the award to celebrate this occasion, a silver coin bearing the award’s name and the image of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, the owner of the idea of ​​the award and the sponsor of creativity and creators, was issued, in cooperation with the Emirates Bank. A commemorative stamp was also issued in cooperation with Emirates Post. In addition, this edition coincides with "Expo Dubai 2020," where the world gathers in the UAE to celebrate the great human achievements and work together for a better future for mankind.

The award’s general secretariat explained that the decision to organize a ceremony honoring the winners of its eleventh session in the heart of Expo 2020 Dubai came in order to enhance the linkage between the two events and to provide the opportunity for international personalities participating in Expo to attend this honor, as well as to provide the opportunity for winners in the various award categories to visit Expo in general. And the wings of their countries in particular, as they are innovators who enjoy great prestige and high esteem in their countries.

All arrangements for the ceremony, which will be held at 12:00 noon tomorrow (Sunday) at the Exhibition and Conference Center at Expo 2020 Dubai, have been completed in a manner that is commensurate with the award’s position and leadership in the field of developing the sports sector locally, regionally and globally, and accompanying programs have been developed.
