JVM was canceled due to the corona virus finding its way into the bubble.

Shortly after that, two positive cases were found in the Swedish team: On goalkeeper Jesper Wallstedt and a Swedish leader.

Thereafter, according to the covid protocols in force in the Canadian province of Alberta, a ten-day quarantine would wait.

New rules yesterday

But already today, after five days, Wallstedt had to quarantine in the hotel room.

- Yesterday I sat in a telephone queue for over two hours to get "Alberta health".

When I finally arrived, I was told that if I had been double-vaccinated and had been quarantined for five days - which we had done yesterday - it would have been okay to leave the quarantine, Jesper Wallstedt tells Dagens Nyheter.

The new rules, which mean a halved quarantine period for those who are double-vaccinated and without symptoms, were introduced yesterday and were of course gratifying for Wallstedt.

 - It has been really boring days, at the same time as I must say that it has still gone surprisingly fast.

The time until about 16.00 my time here in Canada, that is to say midnight Swedish time, has gone well because then I have been able to talk to family and friends in Sweden.

It has been when all Swedes have gone to bed that it has been really boring, he says, and then adds:

- But I have tried to train in the afternoons to make time go by.

Wallstedt will travel home to Sweden later on Tuesday, and then join his SHL team Luleå.
