The hope was that Ebba Andersson would be able to catch up with the lead of one minute and 12 seconds that Neprjajeva had acquired before the last stage, the monster climb up Alpe Cermis.

And the Swede reduced the distance - but not enough for an overall victory.

In the finish, Andersson was second behind the Norwegian Heidi Weng.

In total, she finished second in the tour, 46.7 seconds behind the winner Neprjajeva.

Afterwards, Andersson's achievement is hailed by Charlotte Kalla - Sweden's only overall winner of the Tour de Ski so far.

- So heavenly strong.

This is really a hit for her, even though she was not allowed to step up on the podium before the tour, she has really shown that this is where she belongs, not least with these achievements during the tour.
