The entire football world was shaken when Christian Eriksen collapsed during this summer's European Championship finals.

The cardiac arrest he suffered has since kept him away from games - and longer interviews.

But now the 29-year-old has talked about the incident.

- It was unbelievable that so many people got in touch with greetings.

It affected many.

At the hospital, they told me that I was getting more and more flowers.

It was weird, I did not expect people to send flowers.

It was special.

It has been a great help for me to get so many greetings, says Eriksen to DR.

He continues.

- I would now like to thank all the fans who sent a thousand letters, emails and flowers, or those who came to me on the streets in Denmark or Italy for all the support I have received all over the world, says the Dane.

Christian Eriksen has been clubless since December when he broke with his former club Inter.

But he intends to continue playing football.

- That's really why I feel it's time to go out and do an interview, because I know what I want.

I want to play football again.

Nothing has happened since then, even though the heart has been tested in every possible way it can.

My goal is to go to the World Cup in Qatar.
