A first incident in the history of Egyptian football .. The Zamalek coach succeeds Musimani in Al-Ahly

A source close to the management of the Egyptian Al-Ahly club confirmed to "Emirates Today" that the famous Portuguese coach Ferreira will succeed South African Pitso Mosimane to coach the club's first football team.

The source said that the club’s treasurer, Khaled Murtaja, reached an agreement with Ferreira, who previously trained Zamalek in the 2014-2015 season, to take over the leadership of Al-Ahly in the coming period, due to a state of dissatisfaction with the decisions of the South African coach in the recent period, especially with regard to deals. Which he asked to bring to the club and did not appear in the required form.

And the Al-Ahly club’s planning committee recommended to the board of directors not to extend Musimani’s contract at a time when club president Mahmoud Al-Khatib insists on extending the coach’s contract after the successes he achieved with the club since taking over the technical responsibility for the football team.

And the former Al-Ahly international player Samir Kamouna said that he had confirmed information that Al-Ahly had already obtained Ferrera’s signature, considering in statements to Sada Al-Balad channel that Al-Ahly’s decision not to extend Musimani’s contract was 100% correct, he said.

He added, "I consider Musimani a lucky coach, but at the technical level he is less than capable of training a team of the size of Al-Ahly, and had it not been for the support he received from the club's management, specifically from Mahmoud Al-Khatib, he would not have been able to win the championships that the club recently obtained."

It is the first time that Al-Ahly brings a coach who has led Zamalek before, as he previously agreed with the former Zamalek coach Vingada, but the agreement was not completed.
