“Professional Cup quarter-finals” causes 3 serious injuries

The return round in the quarter-finals of the Football Professional Cup left serious injuries to some players, resulting in the intervention of ambulances, and long periods of absence from the stadiums.

Ittihad Kalba player Habib Al-Fardan suffered a severe injury during his team's match with Al-Jazira, in the League Cup quarter-final, as he was transferred to the hospital.

The ambulance descended to the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium, and the player was taken to the hospital in the 75th minute.

The Kalba Union said in a tweet via its Twitter account: "Our wishes for a speedy recovery for the star Habib Al-Fardan, who suffered a broken nose and was taken to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment."

Al-Jazira qualified for the League Cup semi-finals after its 2-1 victory over Ittihad Kalba, benefiting from a 3-3 tie in the first leg at Ittihad Kalba Stadium.

The Al-Ahly youth match against Ajman ended the season of Hamdan Al-Kamali, after he was cut in the cruciate ligament at the 48th minute, to be replaced by his colleague Salmin Khamis.

Al-Kamali will undergo surgery in the coming days, which will double the suffering of the team's coach, Engineer Mahdi Ali, in the absence of one of the most important elements in the team's lineup at the level of defense.

The most prominent injury was for Al-Nasr player, Bilal Ali, who was substituted in the Al-Wahda match, which Al-Ameed lost with two goals without a response.

Al-Nasr player fell in a joint ball with Al-Wahda defender Abdullah Al-Karbi, to fall to the ground amid expectations that he would sever the cruciate ligament.

The medical staff of Al-Nasr and Al-Wehda intervened after the players of the two teams were affected by the “screaming” of the player, after which an ambulance was called and the player was taken to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment.
