All over the world, the first baby of the year is particularly scrutinized by the local press.
In Copiapó, a city in northern Chile located in the Atacama Desert, the 2022 pioneer has a first name that is not necessarily "local": Griezmann Mbappé Chambi Pacaje was born on January 1 at the San José del Carmen hospital.
"I chose Griezmann, for the footballer, and his father, Mbappé, for the same reason" simply indicated the young mother in front of the cameras of T13, the television news of the Chilean channel Canal 13. Like her husband, Teodora Pacaje is of Bolivian nationality.
The couple have lived in Chile for four years and, unsurprisingly, are fan of football, and perhaps of Corrèze.

In November 2018, a baby also named Griezmann Mbappé was indeed born in Brive.
The French justice had changed the first name, and the boy had become more classically Dany Noé.
